One of the most critical documents of any course is the syllabus. Starting your course with an accessible syllabus is a good way for instructors to learn basic accessibility skills, including the use of "styles." Whether your syllabus is built as a Canvas page or with Word/PDF understanding styles, such as CSS styles or Word styles, can help instructors build a usable syllabus which still has the appearance instructors desire. This session will talk about the use of styles to control formatting of headings, tables and even images and how they relate to more traditional formatting tools. It will also review additional techniques, such as image ALT text and table headers, which can make your syllabus more accessible and more usable for all students.
